Britain’s Got Talent’s Simon Cowell booed by ITV crowd as he ‘turns’ on his own act

Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell wasn’t very popular after his feedback to Golden Buzzer act Duo Stardust
Simon Cowell was the target of loud boos from the Britain’s Got Talent crowd on Monday night, as he ‘turned’ on his own Golden Buzzer act Duo Stardust and gave them some negative feedback for their semi final performance.
Just two days earlier, ITV viewers saw Simon ‘break the rules’ at the auditions, by hitting the Buzzer for the skating pair, who’d jetted over from Ukraine to try out for BGT. He cracked under pressure from the theatre audience to put Stardust through to the semi finals, having been massively impressed by their daring performance. However, he was far from their biggest cheerleader on Monday, with the other Britain’s Got Talent judges stepping into defend them, as Simon took aim at Duo Stardust’s semi final routine. The number saw then surrounded by dancers with flames, with Bruno Tonioli even roped in at the last minute to have a starring tole in the performance, as he was lifted in the air and spun round by the skaters.

That happened in the final moment of the routine and, first to deliver his verdict, Simon first joked: “That actually reminds me of the first night I met Bruno,” before changing his jokey tone for a more serious one, as he then remarked: “This was great, it wasn’t as good as the audition though,” with that comment alone prompting a chorus of boos from the capacity crowd inside the Hammersmith Apollo.
Simon continued “I’m disappointed and I’ll tell you why. I think you let the production overshadow your talent tonight, which is a real shame.” As the boos continued, he then added: “And I’m saying this about an act I gave a Golden Buzzer to, but I can only say how I feel, which was that. We lost the focus of you.”
