Simon Cowell Introduces New Family Dog Named Pebbles: ‘Our Family Has Had a New Arrival’

Simon Cowell’s family is growing!

The English television personality, 64, is a dog dad once again!

“Our family has had a new arrival … her name is Pebbles,” he captioned an Instagram carousel on Thursday. In the two-photo upload, the cover picture sees Cowell with a nice-sized pup in his arms.

Seated at a table holding the pooch, they both drew their faces close to one another as if giving each other a sweet kiss.

In the second photo, the former American Idol judge nestles his face into Pebbles’ ear as he smiles. Cowell has not disclosed the breed of the dog.

Cowell has previously owned four pooches, including Yorkshire terriers Squiddly and Diddly. After Cowell’s mother passed away in 2016, he also started caring for her dog, Freddy, and later adopted a fourth dog, Daisy, in 2018.

In August, during the taping for America’s Got Talent Season 17 Live Semi-Finals at the Sheraton Pasadena Hotel, Cowell walked the red carpet with his small new puppy, Odin.

He asked for pictures on the red carpet with the puppy, who appeared to be a Pomsky.

In addition to having pups as pets, Cowell also has a history of animal activism, specifically for dogs.

The London-born talent donated just over $36,000 to Humane Society International to rescue 200 dogs — including poodles, Labs and collies — from a “deplorable and depressing” existence in October 2018.

Dog Meat to Be Removed from the Menu in South Korea After Country Outlaws Centuries-Old Practice
The canines had been caged up at a dog meat farm in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea.

“His support helped financially but also in raising awareness. We met people in South Korea who had heard of his donation and it really had an impact,” Wendy Higgins, HSI’s Director of International Media, PEOPLE told about Cowell’s “enormously” beneficial gift at the time.

In July 2020, Cowell had an emotional reunion with one of the dogs he’d previously helped rescue from the South Korean dog meat farm.

The sweet moment aired during ITV’s Good Morning Britain. The show’s news correspondent Philippa Tomson ended up adopting the pup, a Maltese mix named Robin.
