Sept. 20 (UPI) — Virgin River will return for a fourth and fifth season on Netflix.
Netflix confirms the news on the show’s official Instagram account Monday with a video featuring series stars Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson.
The video shows a mock proposal from Henderson where he asks Breckenridge if she’d like to “do a Season 4” while down on one knee. Breckenridge then asks Henderson if he’d like to do a Season 5.
“Season 4 and Season 5 picked up by Netflix! Thank each and everyone of you for all your support! We so appreciate it!” the caption reads.
Virgin River is based on the Robyn Carr book series. The series follows Melinda “Mel” Monroe (Breckenridge), a nurse practitioner who moves to the remote California town of Virgin River and discovers that small-town living isn’t as simple as she expected.
The Netflix series premiered in December 2019, with Season 3 released in July. Deadline says both Seasons 2 and 3 performed strongly.
