Virgin River star Martin Henderson reveals that he knows who shot Jack

Virgin River star Martin Henderson has revealed he knows who shot his character Jack Sheridan in the romance drama’s second season – and he’s worried he’ll spill the beans at some point if the show continues to keep its audience in the dark.

Given the cliffhanger finale, fans had hoped that the identity of Jack’s attacker would be confirmed in season three, which premiered on Netflix on July 9. But due to his hazy memory surrounding the incident, that didn’t transpire.

“The fact that I know makes me feel like the audience is going to find out,” Henderson laughed in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly. “They toyed with the idea of revealing [it] in season three.

“There were drafts where we were going to actually get a little more information, and you would find more out. But for a bunch of reasons, they decided to extend that. So that can be pulled out a little bit.”

While Dan Brady (Benjamin Hollingsworth), a former US Marine like Jack, was arrested on suspicion of shooting Jack in the last episode of season three, it’s pretty clear that he wasn’t actually involved. Henderson made sure to reassure fans, though, that questions will be answered eventually and that the show has every intention of resolving that storyline at some point in the near future.

“It would be unfair to the audience to not have that result,” the actor explained. “That would feel a little tacky to string them along and then keep it a mystery. It’ll be nice to see [him] heal going forward.”

Henderson went to tease that “there’s always the threat of [pot farmer] Calvin” as he “has influence” over the town.

“Whether it was Calvin or someone else in Calvin’s camp, because it remains a mystery, we’re not really going to know how safe Jack is and what the motive really was.”
