Young Sheldon Season 7 Further Proves That The Big Bang Theory Destroyed Missy

Missy’s new role in the Young Sheldon season 7 premiere emphasizes how much The Big Bang Theory destroyed Sheldon’s twin and her future,
Missy has a new role in Young Sheldon season 7 and it further proves that The Big Bang Theory did destroy her. In season 6, Missy went to great lengths to ensure that she finally got the attention of her family, including stealing George’s car and driving it far enough without having a driving license. Following a near-death experience, however, she promised George to make up for acting out, and she keeps that word and even does so much more in Young Sheldon season 7 premiere.

Despite Missy’s limited appearance in The Big Bang Theory, she made enough impact that helped mold her into the fan-favorite that she became in Young Sheldon. During the prequel’s earlier years, her arc was tied with Sheldon, especially since they shared a bedroom for the most part of the show’s run. Young Sheldon diversifying its storytelling should have meant increased attention on her, but that didn’t happen. Instead, she was further relegated to be a side character. However, at least Young Sheldon has highlighted her great qualities, which makes her The Big Bang Theory fate more bizarre.
Young Sheldon Season 7 Premiere Shows How Great Missy Really Is
With Mary out of the country with Sheldon in Germany, the only Cooper daughter becomes the lady of the house.

In the Young Sheldon season 7 premiere, “A Weiner Schnitzel and Underwear in a Tree,” Missy not only behaves but also steps up to take charge of the household after the latest Medford tornado. With Mary out of the country with Sheldon in Germany, the only Cooper daughter becomes the lady of the house. She spearheads the organizational efforts at the house and even tells George what to do to keep things running. Surprisingly, Missy is quite efficient and effective in the role, and everyone notices that. Despite the additional workload, she seems to enjoy the challenge.

Even when she was a supporting player, it was clear that Missy was the most well-rounded among George and Mary’s kids.

If only Young Sheldon had given her more opportunities like this, Missy would have been able to showcase more of her character. That said, even when she was a supporting player, it was clear that Missy was the most well-rounded among George and Mary’s kids. She has the street smarts and the personality to succeed in life, and yet, her parents, particularly her mother, tend to ignore her.
Missy’s Young Sheldon Arc Doesn’t Fit With Her TBBT Fate
George and Mary’s only daughter had all the attributes that could have made her successful in her own path, and yet, she wasn’t able to achieve anything significant in her professional life.

Unfortunately, Missy doesn’t reach her full potential. While Sheldon excelled as a physicist and Georgie built his business, Dr. Tire in The Big Bang Theory, Missy spent her time working in a dead-end job and subsequently entered a miserable marriage that ended up in a separation that her mother disapproved of. George and Mary’s only daughter had all the attributes that could have made her successful in her own path, and yet, she wasn’t able to achieve anything significant in her professional life.

While there isn’t anything wrong with being a stay-at-home mom, Missy had the leadership skills and emotional intelligence to excel in any career choice she may have had. Unfortunately, she wasn’t able to do any of that, at least per The Big Bang Theory. Adult Sheldon’s narration in Young Sheldon revealed that she eventually got re-married and had more kids, but no mention of a fulfilling career. Perhaps future remaining episodes of the prequel can remedy that.
